CHEER 2012 information

INSTRUCTIONAL LEVELS:
TINY MITE CHEER (AGES 5-6)
Tiny Mite Cheer is a fun instructional level of teaching basic principles of cheer and teamwork while having lots of FUN!! Tiny Mite cheer is instructional cheer with low pressure competition. The season starts August 1st and is over by the end of October. Tiny Mites will compete as exhibition teams in 2 local competitions, along with cheering at home games that are played on the weekends at Sycamore Park and away games that start at the end of August. Practice for Tiny Mite starts 2 nights a week in August at Sycamore Park for 2 hours a night and will drop to 1 night a week after Labor Day. Indoor practice will begin after Labor Day at schools in the area and practice will remain at the assigned school for the reminder of the season. All coaches are Pop Warner Certified.

Clothing Included: 1 game shirt and 1 pair of competition shoes

Clothing NOT included in Registration Fee: (estimate cost based on 2011 prices) * Warm Up Pants: $ 18.00 * Spankies: $ 7.00 * Back Pack $ 26.00 * Game/Competition Skirt: $ 18.00. All clothing that is purchased is yours to keep at the end of the season.

MIGHTY MITE CHEER (AGES 7-9)
Mighty Mite Cheer is a fun instructional level building on basic principles of cheer and teamwork while having lots of FUN!! Mighty Mite cheer is instructional cheer with low pressure competition. The season Starts August 1st and is over by the end of October. Mighty Mites will compete as exhibition teams in 2 local competitions, along with cheering at home games that are played on the weekends at Sycamore Park and away games that start at the end of August. Practice for Mighty Mite starts 3 nights a week in August at Sycamore Park for 2 hours a night and will drop to 2 nights a week after Labor Day. Indoor practice will begin after Labor Day at schools in the area and will remain at the assigned school for the remainder of the season. All coaches are Pop Warner Certified.

GAME ONLY CHEER (AGES 10-14)
Game Only Cheer is a fun instructional level building basic principles of cheer and teamwork while having lots of FUN!! Game Only Cheer is instructional cheer with NO pressure of a competition. The season Starts August 1st and is over by the end of November. Game Only Cheer will perform side line cheers and half time for football home games that are played on at Sycamore Park and away games that start at the end of August as well as at Conference and Regional Playoff games. Practice for Game Only starts 2 nights a week in August at Sycamore Park for 2 hours a night and will drop to 1 night a week after Labor Day. Indoor practice will begin after Labor Day at schools in the area and will remain at the assigned school for the remainder of the season. Game Only cheerleaders will continue to practice 1 night a week with the team until approximately mid-September. All coaches are Pop Warner Certified.

COMPETITIVE LEVELS:
Junior Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Junior Midget, Midget (AGES 10-14):
Our Competitive levels are broken up into four divisions: Junior Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Junior Midget and Midget. Cheerleaders are placed on teams/levels based on age, and what is best for our League and the cheerleaders' development. Hoffman Hawks Cheer is highly competitive and sends teams to Nationals on an annual basis. Nine year olds with prior Hawk experience may be moved up to a competitive level; please see a cheer coordinator for consideration. Competitive Cheer is a dedicated sport that requires full participation and commitment from each athlete. The season Starts August 1st and is over as far out as December with Nationals. Competition Cheer will compete at a local competition, the Chicagoland Conference Competition; if qualifying then the Mid-America Regional Competition in November; if qualifying then Pop Warner Nationals the 1st week in December. They will also cheer at home games that are played on at Sycamore Park and away games that start at the end of August. The regular season ends at the end of October and playoffs continue on to the end of November. Cheerleaders will continue to cheer for their football team at games as long as they continue in playoffs. Practice for Competitive Cheer starts 4 nights a week in August at Sycamore Park for 2 hours a night and will drop to 3 nights a week after Labor Day. Indoor practice will begin after Labor Day at schools in the area, and the practices will remain at the assigned school for the remainder of the season. All coaches are Pop Warner Certified.

Coaching Opportunities:

Anyone interested in head, assistant, or teen coaching with one of the cheer teams this year, please send an email to Roberta at delloracing@comcast.net!

Head coaches must be 21 years old. Assistant coaches must be 18 years old. A head coach or assistant coach who is 21yrs old or older must be present with the team in order for the team to practice.

Teen coaches must be 15 years old. We welcome any 14 year olds that would like to be teen coach trainees.

You don't need to have a child in cheerleading or have any cheerleading experience!

Please note that it is mandated that we do a full background check, as well as required attendance at a Pop Warner coaches certification and coaches training. You will be contacted for interview process. Get involved this year!
